On a monthly basis, our organization creates a fun and unique online experience which we offer on a subscription basis. We then provide homeless individuals across the nation with subscription cards. In turn, those individuals are then able to utilize the cars in raising survival money. The Monthly Zine provides all subscription cards completely free of charge. The publication is so blessed with the ability to provide individuals in need with a means of earning some desperately needed survival funds, helping them reintegrate into society.
Absolutely. The individuals who
raise funds with Monthly Zine subscriptions keep every cent that they make. 100% of every dollar raised by street solicitors stays with them. Period. We never charge any individual, organization, church, shelter or charity for our magazine. EVER.
The time and financial commitments required to create and distribute The Monthly Zine are immense. Every month our staff tackles the task of fabricating and designing all magazine content. We travel vast distances and search the web high & low to bring our subscribers the most awesome, eye popping photographs. Additionally, we print thousands of subscription cards and ship them to homeless shelters and other authorized distribution locations throughout the United States. Our staff then heads into some of America’s most impoverished areas in search of new individuals & organizations to serve and provide subscription cards. Any extra time goes towards accounting practices, general operational duties or providing free advertising for community oriented businesses.
Your donations go directly towards funding this publication and it's services. This includes production costs, printing costs, operating cost and shipping costs, among dozens of other necessary monthly expenses. We operate on a shoestring budget, and frivolous spending is unacceptable in our business culture. For a brief breakdown of our monthly expenses, please see the pie chart below.
At this current time, unfortunately not. However, we are currently in the process of organizing, raising funds for and preparing our application for 503(c) non-profit status. This process takes hundreds of labor hours and thousands of dollars, so please be patient, we have a very small staff. We anticipate this process will be complete by mid-summer 2020.
The Monthly Zine is a revolutionary publication. Our operational model is the first of its kind, providing us and our homeless distributors multiple advantages. The first and most significant advantage that our model allows, is the overall reduction in price of printing costs . We are able to avoid using expensive pulp newsprint and forgo the burden that a major pressing run requires. Likewise, our ability to avoid large, heavy newsprint helps reduce shipping costs. Additionally, the homeless citizens that distribute Monthly Zine subscription cards find it easier and much more convenient to manage smaller, less bulky cards rather than a huge stack of newspapers.
